Put simply, spiritual disciplines are things that we do to abide with Jesus. In his book Habits of Grace: Enjoying Jesus through the Spiritual Disciplines, David Mathis divides them into three broad categories:
Hearing God’s Voice through His Word.
Having God’s Ear through Prayer.
Belonging to God’s Body, the Church.
The habits are avenues for us to draw near to the Lord and experience his grace. They include things like prayer, meditation, Bible study, fasting, journaling, worship, and memorizing scripture, among many, many other things. This printable is a brief overview of Mathis' Habits of Grace and is designed to help you understand and begin to practice spiritual disciplines in your life.
