There's something to be said for the simple act of naming the tiny joys in life. It may not seem like much, but taking a moment day by day to focus on the good and give thanks for blessings both big and small has a way of slowly but surely changing a heart.
It's in gratitude, even for the small things, that we forget our grumbling and remember what matters most. God is good. All the time. And not only is he good, he is good to us. Even in the mess. Even in the chaos. He is good.
In that spirit then, here are a few tiny joys that I'm thankful for today.
1. Crisp fall mornings ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Cozy sweaters⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Changing seasons⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Candy corn and pumpkins
It might seem silly to count these small things as blessings, but they make my heart happy and bring me joy, so as far as I'm concerned, they're worth naming.
What about you? What little things are you giving thanks for today?

These days are wildly busy, and it's easy to be overwhelmed by all the holiday parties and shopping lists and special programs and Christmas parades and seasonal decorating and gift giving that fills up our days. Decide now (before things get crazy) to make this season a joyous one. Embrace the wonder. Marvel in the mystery. Repeat the sounding joy.
