Repeat the Sounding Joy
These days are wildly busy, and it's easy to be overwhelmed by all the holiday parties and shopping lists and special programs and Christmas parades and seasonal decorating and gift giving that fills up our days.
Decide now (before things get crazy) to make this season a joyous one. Embrace the wonder. Marvel in the mystery. Repeat the sounding joy.
The declaration of the heavenly host still resounds today. Good news of great joy has come. A savior has been born. The word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory.
Jesus is the joy of our salvation. He's our rescuer sent from heaven. He's our help in times of deepest need. He's the promise of aid on the horizon. He's the light that shines in the darkness. He's our living hope. Christ has come. Christ has risen. And Christ will come again.
That's good news of great joy, indeed.
May we be a people who repeat that joy over and over again. As long as there is breath in our lungs, let us speak words of life, light, and blessing to those around us. May we share the hope, peace, joy, and love of Christ not just during Christmas, but all year through.
