A Resolution Reset
Leslie Ann Jones
Whew! What a month January has been. A couple of major wholesale markets have kept us busy packaging products, filling orders, and shipping out stacks and stacks of journals, stickers, and scripture static clings on repeat. To say that I'm grateful would be an understatement.*
On a more personal note, I've been thinking a lot about resolutions lately. The truth is that I've never been all that good at setting and keeping them. So this year, I decided to try setting a series of smaller goals for myself each month.
In December, I committed to simply read more of the Bible each day, and in January, I continued to work on it. I chose a plan that works for me, and even though I got a little behind in the midst of traveling and battling sickness (not to mention an arctic blast that kept my kids out of school for several days), I stuck with it and got caught up by the end of the month.
Now that I'm back to reading through a good portion of scripture each day, I want to focus on my prayer life. I'm using our yearly prayer journal to get things organized and help me stay on track and am excited to get it set up for February later on today.
I share all of this simply to say that there's nothing that makes January 1 a better day to start than February 1, or any other day of the year for that matter. Faithfulness is something that's cultivated one day at a time, and there's no time like the present to start.
How are you doing on your resolutions so far?? What goals and practices have been working well for you this month? What's not working and needs to change? Leave a comment and let me know. I'd love to hear from you.
Until next time, grace and peace.
