The Reminder I Didn't Know I Needed

What a summer we’ve had so far! As June winds down, I just wanted to take a minute to update you on all that’s been happening here at Muscadine Press.

You may (or may not have) noticed that for the past several months, I haven’t sent many e-mails, and social media has been pretty quiet. The short story is that there have been some major changes in my family that required a lot of me.

Thankfully, by the grace of God, life began to settle down at the tail end of the school year, just in time for us to prepare for the market at The Gospel Coalition Women’s Conference in Indianapolis. I put the finishing touches on new products for our summer collection, and we spent weeks making journals, packaging products, planning the booth, and praying over our plans.

I was expectant and hopeful for the conference, but I couldn’t have imagined how wonderful it would be to connect with literally thousands of women from across the country who love the Lord and his word just as much as I do. What a gift it was to be in the presence of so many women devoted to serving God with their whole hearts.

I’m still not over it.

Though I knew going in that the theme of the conference was Turn Your Eyes, I didn’t realize how desperately my heart needed the reminder to look past the small world that I inhabit day in and day out and turn my eyes toward Jesus, who is so much greater than everything that has overwhelmed me in recent days.

Maybe you need that reminder too. When the troubles of this world are all that you can see, shift your focus to him. May our faces be radiant as we fix our eyes on Christ with each new day.

Until next time, grace and peace.
