Have You Seen the Goodness of God?
Leslie Ann Jones
I don’t know how things are in your corner of the world just now, but it’s a little chaotic over here. As I was walking yesterday and thinking over all the responsibilities weighing heavy on my mind and the things that are taking up space on our family calendar, I was nevertheless overwhelmed with gratitude for the sheer goodness of this crazy life that God has given me.
One minute I was feeling mildly anxious, and the next, extremely grateful. Don’t get me wrong. My life isn’t perfect. It’s usually messy. Sometimes it’s downright hard, and it’s often overwhelming . . . but when I slow down long enough to really look, I see the goodness of God all around me.
Your life probably isn’t perfect either. It may, in fact, be a train wreck. But even the most devastating circumstances do not negate the goodness of God. To the contrary. That’s where his goodness abounds the most. Our God is a compassionate God, full of tenderness, love, and mercy for the hurting.
So where have you seen the goodness of God playing out in your life lately? How have you seen him move? Take note and give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, and his love endures forever.
Until next time, grace and peace.
