Ten Years in the Making

Ten Years in the Making

On October 1, 2015, I sat down with a local printer and ordered the very first batch of journals for the shop. To say that I had no idea what I was doing would be an understatement. I was just a girl who wanted to help busy women make the most of their precious time alone with the Lord. And so, the very first Dwell Journals were born (see throwback photo above).

The photography makes me cringe a bit, and even though I really wanted to add some florals to the lineup, I didn't have the foggiest idea of how to create a seamless, repeating hand-drawn pattern, so I stuck with simple geometric designs. They were safer.

Today, 10 years later, I'm getting ready to release the newest batch of journals out into the world (sneak peek below). I drew every flower, strawberry, leaf, and lemon on those patterns by hand, and then I printed, punched, and bound the journals right here in my very own studio. The girl who stepped out on a limb and had that first batch of journals printed would be so proud.

A lot has changed around here over the past 10 years, but one thing that remains the same is my desire to help women cultivate faithfulness, remember truth, and do good.

Over the years, we've created over 150 different products designed to do just that. We said hello (and then good-bye) to both mugs and apparel. We've shipped out thousands of journals, scripture mirror clings, bookmarks, pens, graduation gifts, teacher happies,  stocking stuffers, and everything in between.

It's been a joy.

I don't know what the next 10 years will bring, but I do know that those new journals will launch October 15, and then, at the end of the month, we'll have a big birthday sale to celebrate 10 amazing years in business.

In the meantime, I just want to say thank you for all the love and support you've shown me and Muscadine Press over the years. I don't deserve any of it, but I'm so very grateful to have it. You're the reason that I do what I do. Thank you for letting me be a part of your life! It means the world. And I'm not just saying that.

Until next time, grace and peace.
